Senior Caroline Knight’s Movie, Still Sophie, Wins Award at Nashville Film Festival

Senior Cinema Studies major Caroline Knight won the Best Tennessee Documentary Award at the 2017 Nashville Film Festival this April.  Caroline’s film, Still Sophie, depicts the story of a young woman, Sophie Salveson, who almost completely lost her speaking ability because of a stroke but retained her ability to sing.  The film was made in part to inform audiences about aphasia, the loss of ability to understand or express speech, caused by brain damage.  You can learn more about the film and the condition on the National Aphasia Association website: https://www.aphasia.org/stories/still-sophie-movie-aphasia/.  Congratulations to Caroline.
