Maria Stehle awarded the Jefferson Prize for her outstanding scholarship at the Chancellors Honors Banquet

Maria Stehle, a core faculty member in Cinema Studies and an Associate Professor in German, was awarded the Jefferson Prize for her outstanding scholarship at the Chancellors Honors Banquet this spring.  Maria teaches courses in German Cinema and is a specialist in exploring contemporary media in Germany.  Besides publishing many articles, book chapters, and reviews, Maria is the author of  Ghetto Voices in Contemporary Germany: Textscapes, Filmscapes, and Soundscapes.  The Jefferson Prize includes a fund for Maria to pursue further research in her field.  Congratulations to Maria!
