James M. Johnston visited for film screening and student talk in November

James M. Johnston, Dallas-based producer and director, visited campus in November.  He first did a Q & A  at a screening of Person to Person, a 2017 feature with Michael Cera and Abbi Jacobson that premiered this year at Sundance and which he produced.  He followed that up the next day with a screening of a number of his short films, including the award-winning Melville,  At that session he also spoke with students about how he went about writing and directing his own films, as well as his work as a creative producer on such films as A Ghost Story, starring Casey Affleck and Mara Rooney, and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (2013), also starring Affleck and Rooney, along with Ben Foster.
